- Robert H. Schwaninger is president of the law firm of Schwaninger Law, Inc. Mr. Schwaninger has degrees in Journalism and Law from the University of Missouri and has been practicing law before the Federal Communications Commission since 1982. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals and the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia. Mr. Schwaninger is a fellow of the Radio Club of America, for which he served on the board as General Counsel and received the President’s Award. He has been a featured speaker before numerous trade organizations, including the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association, the National Surveillance Association, the Great Lakes Motorola Service Shop Association, the National Telecommunications Investigators Association, the Interactive Video Data Association, the International Wireless Communications Exposition, the Tower Summit, the Site Owners and Managers Association, and RF Compliance 2000. He has spoken before trade groups on the issue of tower leasing and valuation and the state of the tower market. Mr. Schwaninger has prepared over 300 valuations of telecommunications assets and businesses.
- Mr. Schwaninger has published numerous articles in various publications on the subject of telecommunications and regulation, including within Communications, Compliance Engineering, Popular Communications, ETTM Forum, RF Design and Mobile Radio Technology. He previously served as Regulatory Consultant to Mobile Radio Technology and was author of a monthly column in that publication entitled "In the Public Interest".
- Mr. Schwaninger was the co-founder of Fryer’s Site Guide and a co-author of the "Tower Market Report”, an annual comprehensive survey of the radio tower industry which outlined the status of the industry, market demand, and the financial considerations attendant to investment in antenna supporting structures. His firm represents numerous tower and site owners, managers and operators.
- Mr. Schwaninger has appeared and been accepted as an expert witness before both state and federal courts in matters related to tower rents, site valuation, telecommunications asset valuation, and the regulation of telecommunications.
- Since 1986, he has represented numerous clients in the sale or purchase of tower properties, including the negotiation of price and terms of sale for over 3000 tower properties.
